Mine was creamed from behind because where I live, dumb soccer moms tote around loads of kids in their huge H2s and Suburbans, and anything smaller than a larger 2-door coupe is lost in the view of the less-than-observant drivers. I constantly had to avoid accidents from people not paying attention. It's like driving a motorcycle in terms of what drivers can see, except a bike can more easily get out of the way of a clueless driver vs. the Elise. Lotus made a mistake by not using Honda motors, as the Toyota motor is less than modifiable without loads of cash. The elise/exige are fun to drive, but unless you're small and physically fit, it's no fun getting in and out of it, since the cockpit is about half the size of a miatar cabin. You're constantly reminded of the fact that it's a barely streetable track car, not a trackable street car. It's fun, turns heads, and gets great gas mileage, but as a DD, it's only for the more intense drivers.
Cheers, JBrobst
